The 2013 IACAT conference to be held in Jiaxing, China has been cancelled.  It was first announced that 2013 conference will be held in Jiaxing University (http://www.zjxu.edu.cn/English/), China, conveniently located outside Shanghai.  However, the conference has been Cancelled and IACAT is looking for sponsors for next year's conference.  Please watch the IACAT site (www.iacat.org) for more information.

As you know, one of the objectives of the International Association for Computerized Adaptive Testing (IACAT) is to serve as an international source of information on CAT.  A major part of this initiative is the IACAT Web site, which has already become a substantial improvement over the old CAT Central Web site, which is being absorbed into IACAT's new Web site.

CAT researchers:

It is time to start thinking about IACAT 2013!  We would like to able to announce the location of the 2013 conference while at the 2012 conference.  Since the 2012 conference will be in August, the proposal and review process will need to occur in the May-July period.  An official Request for Proposals (RFP) will be released in approximately May.  Therefore, this message is to serve as notice for all interested organizations to start thinking of their proposal at this time.  If you are interested, a link to the previous form is below.

The third conference of the International Association for Computerized Adaptive Testing (IACAT) will be held at the Sydney Convention Centre (www.scec.com.au), Australia from Sunday 12 to Tuesday 14 August 2012. This conference follows the successful first conference held in the Netherlands in June 2010 and the second conference held in Monterey in October 2011.

At its meeting in late November, the IACAT Board of Directors approved a proposal by its previously appointed Journal Committee to prepare a proposal for the development of the Journal of Computerized Adaptive Testing (JCAT). JCAT will be implemented as an electronic journal that will be distributed using PDF files at no cost. It will publish high-quality peer-reviewed CAT research. We expect to begin receiving manuscripts for review in Spring 2012 with publication beginning in late spring.
